I Do

'Do you, Jack, take Sam's hand in yours' for forever?'

'I do.'

'And Sam, do you, take Jack's hand in your's for your whole life?'

'For ever and ever.' They looked at each other; smiling, holding hands.

'Ahmm, I believe, here Sam meant Samantha, me. Now, move you rascal.' She gave him a light punch and said, 'I do.'

The priest waved his head in exasperation, 'Okay then, I now pronounce you both, husband and wife.'

Jack took her in his arms, there were tears in her eyes, they were childhood sweethearts after all.

A drop of tear gushed from Sam's eyes too. After all, Jack was his love too.

Act of GOD?

2009:
‘Do you know what this means, baba; less traffic, cleaner roads and above all, we don’t have to leave early for our office, ’ he was surely excited about the project that started recently, ‘and this company, very professional.’

‘Arey babai, tumi kichu jano na. You youngsters just get excited very easily. Good we experienced old lads are here. This area is congested, it is so dense; won’t it create problems, tell me. I am writing a letter to the municipality, to adjourn the project.’

‘See, this is why we don’t progress. We don’t want to get out of out comfort zone. You just want to stick to your old days, that’s it.’ He got irritated.

2016:
He was looking for his baba everywhere, but no clue of him. A shopkeeper told he had seen him near the flyover, right before it collapsed. He now understood what his baba meant then, but now left with tears.

The company was actually, very professional; they declared the incident as, an ‘Act of God’.

Colored

Quietly, she tried to sneak out from the kitchen, apprehensive of the frightful event that could befall any moment. But she found him right there, in front of her.

'NOOO.' She emitted a scream

She ran towards the other room to escape, but he was swift. He grabbed her hand from behind, tightly.

She moaned, 'Please, let me go. I will do whatever you will say, I promise.'

He pulled her closer to him. His grip remained firm, even after her pleading.

'Anything?' his right eyebrow raised, with a shrewd smile.

'Ye...s, yes. Anything but this.' she replied eyeing towards his hand.

'THIS IS HOLI' he shouted, in "300" style, 'and you will get colored this day.' He laughed out loudly and colored her all over.

Soldier

The night was getting longer as if there won’t be a dawn. The fog, with every passing second was getting dense making the directions clueless for them. Countless rounds of fires were chasing them. But he, their last hope, was poised to find a way protecting them along.

Finally, they reached their destination; their abode. Indebted to his beneficence, they turned to thank him, but he was gone.

Years ago, he was killed while fighting the intruders, fraudulently. He now helps the innocents who mistakenly cross borders.

A soldier never dies.

A Nightmare and a Dream

‘Adios! You freak.’ With a thrust, she pushed him from behind.

He kept falling in the abyss, 'O God! Let this be a dream.' He closed his eyes tightly.

'What happened, honey?' She woke him up.

'Oh thank God!' he was sweating, 'again that nightmare; a woman pushed me from behind and I am falling endlessly in the abyss.'

'Oh! May be this time, its actual.' A mystical smile appeared on her face.

The room was warm, but he was feeling cold. Everything started getting hazy. He rubbed his eyes and opened them back. The nightmare was real; the fall was real. He saw her up there, but was now late for any dismay.

'His nightmare turned out to be a good idea. Good bye, you loser.' She laughed.
